MCGF is expanding our reach . . . merger & collaborations!

We have some exciting news to share with you! After several months of exploration and deliberation, it has become clear that the Madison Christian Giving Fund (“MCGF”) needs to expand our reach and grow its connections. 2025 will be a year of change with God’s timing falling into place on several levels. A merger, a more dynamic grant process, and more robust collaborations are examples of what is to come.

Fulfilling our mission involves 4 main pillars:

  1. Our grant process is being streamlined and enhanced with added accountability. Donors can become Members who have input in the grant process. Each quarter:

  2. Grant applications will be vetted and reviewed by our UMCG Board of Directors.

  3. Members will review and vote on six grant applicants who will present at the quarterly meeting.

  4. Members will have the opportunity to listen to presentations by the six finalists and vote for the top 3. Winners will receive checks at the quarterly meeting.

BROADENING OUR REACH:

We are excited to announce a merger between the Madison Christian Giving Fund and United Madison; bringing two similar missions into ONE Christian organization that can reach into our broader community for God’s purpose. The merger will enable us to cast a wider net, further bolstering collaboration, as well as increasing awareness and support of needs in our community. We will establish a new Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and a new website will be launched in January, 2025. The new entity is called United Madison Christian Givers, Inc. (UMCG).

In addition to the merger, the new entity will collaborate with Families Connect WI to further support those served by our Grant recipients. The mission of Families Connect WI is: “We connect non-profits, social services, schools, churches, businesses, & individuals, to meet the needs of local at-risk families”.

LEARN, ENGAGE AND VOTE:

The Grant process has been streamlined with added accountability to enhance our overall process. Donors can become Members who have input in the grant process. Each quarter:

  1. Grant applications will be vetted and reviewed by our UMCG Board of Directors.

  2. Members will review and vote on six grant applicants who will present at the quarterly meeting.

  3. Members will have the opportunity to listen to presentations by the six finalists and vote for the top 3. Winners will receive checks by the end of the quarterly meeting.
